The scope of RPAs ranges from the work planning to the maintenance and reparation.
The images and data taken from RPAs facilitate the design phase and the work planning altogether with the topographic data phase. They provide a better resolution when they are compared with satellite images, apart from allowing other angles.
During the implementation phase, the acquired data in the different phases can be analysed with specific software to control the “Design as Build”, value inventories on raw materials or soil movement.
The RPAS are ideal for maintenance work in difficult zone to access. With a simple camera we can perform a control of cracks or corrosion. Through boarded wireless devices, they can conduct ultrasonic inspections to verify structural defects.
